Pendle Education Trust
Pendle Education Trust is a family of five academies in East Lancashire, and is sponsored by Nelson and Colne College. The most recent addition to the Pendle Education Trust family was Casterton Primary Academy, which converted in June 2018.
By becoming part of Pendle Education Trust, Casterton Primary Academy is able to share best practice, resources and ideas with the other primary members of the Trust family, and continue its ongoing commitment to helping pupils achieve their aspirations.
The need for a full revamp of their lighting scheme was identified from the constant need across the Trust for replacement bulbs, this is the point where Pendle Education Trust engaged with WN1.
Switching old and time-consuming fluorescent bulbs to new and efficient LED lighting.
Key Outcomes
- Preventing costly and time-consuming lamp replacement
- Reduced Carbon Footprint
- Reduced electricity costing
- Overnight installations to avoid classroom disruption
- Future-proofed LED solution now in place
The Challenge
- Initial consultation and site survey
- Lighting scheme design
- Procurement
- Project delivery
The Solution
WN1 upgraded Pendle Education Trust to a current, sustainable and efficient LED lighting scheme, which has improved not only the outgoing energy costs but reduced the requirements for labour to keep replacing defective bulbs. The new LED lighting has had a positive impact on budgets and allowed further allocation into more relevant areas resulting in a better environment for the pupils to learn and develop in.
The delivery from start to finish was executed with perfect project management, minimum disruption and again a proven sustainable solution from the WN1 team.
